I’ve often said, “Our Self-Care is our wealth care.”
Self-care is our true wealth as nurses and as people.
I’ve collaborated with Elizabeth Scala on several of her rejuvenation for nurses initiatives. She is sincere and dedicated to making a difference in nursing.
“Nursing from Within” is a fast read booklet to “putting out fires and self-care workarounds”. It offers guidance for nurses at all levels of the profession.
That’s why I agreed to be part of her blog tour for her new book, Nursing from Within.
The premise is to Go Within to Shift Without
Elizabeth captured my attention in the first chapter with her personal story of how she was lead to being a nurse- in an unexpected way. Nursing is a tough profession. We need compassionate methods to heal ourselves. The book gives holistic methods to help support nurses who often get burned or burned out related to the copious demands, risks and expectations faced on a daily basis.
She states, It’s time to leave the problem-solution based model aside and heal the root cause: the thought.
The old way is putting a band-aid on every little problem as it arises. The way it’s “always been done” is to fix the problem with a solution, but even the best intended solutions create with them unintended side effects. The best way to heal is to get at the root cause, the thought that created them.
Change your thoughts and change your life.
She offers solutions to help to change the thoughts, energy and mindset from the inside out. My kind of nursing. From the heart and soul
Bravo Elizabeth for putting your passion out there.
